Classic Dragons Ascona

There are already 18 boats registered for the First International Dragon Classics in Ascona in September 2009, which is very fine. Most of these boats have a German registration. Where is the International answer to this German challenge? Where are the British, Scandinavian, Italian, French and Dutc...

There are two DVD´s available , the one you have already, sponsored by BB and the one I am talking of, released by the IDA for every crew taking part in St.Tropez, sponsored by HLL. Both are quite nice, but to me the IDA DVD (HLL) is mutch better, it is a more professional video.

greetings, Michael

Mickey, if you are looking for a really good advertising for the dragon class, you have to take a look in the oficial DVD of the 75th anniversary in St. Tropez. Fantastic scenes and it schows exactly the flair and the mood we had at that outstanding event. If you are not already own this DVD, I am s...

For the Flensburg fans especially the "Robbe & Berking classics" (next time in 2008) are very interesting, also organised by the FKY. Good information and a lot of pictures in the archives of the FKY webside http://www.fky.org. There are also some classic dragons sailing.

To my opinion the IDA is on the right way with Roberts work to find out and define all the different types of dragon sailors. Only with this knowledge the international organisation is able to cover the interests of all members and ( which is very important) maybe also to cover the intersets of the ...

I just read Frans´s newest post ( Oct. 22.), therefore some additions. Your proposals concerning the sails, the transport and the help while launching the boat are very good !!! We also bought our boat in 2000 and after the restauration we were happy to find some dragon-experienced friends who help...

classic dragon

It is very nice to read in Frans Boom’s first post on this page, that there are some others, who are sailing a dragon not only as a racing machine. I couldn’t agree more to your description of the enthousiastic group of dragon sailors (paragraph 4 of your post) and your feelings sailing in a cro...

Definition of a classic dragon and 80th anniversary

How to define a classic dragon? As we all know, this question is hard to decide. There are lots of proposals. In St.Tropez they solved the problem just with the building date ( built before 1972 ). In Germany this definition makes some problems , because there are some (very few) plywood dragons , s...

To my opinion there is not very much wrong with the dragon class and therefore it was very interesting for me to read your 4 essays concerning the "classification" of the dragon sailors. I agree that a lot of dragon sailors fit in this 4 groups, but in my opinion your analysis lays too much weight o...

What I would do

to my opinion sailing is always a question of the heart and only boring people would decide this question with the arguments of a bank manager--
so take the classik dragon !
